2006 Fennville Golf

This year's Varsity Golf team was low in numbers, containing only six players. The golfers consisted of seniors Nick Wells, Alex Ruffing, Chris Gonzalez, and Carvelle Smith, along with juniors Raymond Alsip and Phillip Capps.

Change was a theme for this season. Nick's father, Jay Wells, took over as the head coach of the team. The home course was also new, changing from Clearbrook to Cheshire. One thing that did not change was the team's consistency, as they finished 6th or better in almost every tournament.

Individually, only one golfer was able to advance past the opening round of the state tournament. Nick Wells placed second in Districts to advance to Regionals, and Chris Gonzalez missed the cut by only one stroke. Nick played well at Regionals, and nearly advanced to the State level of the tournament.
