Week #2 - Lawrence Week number two had the Hawks on the road playing the Lawrence Tigers. The Tigers forced their way into the endzone on their first possession, but the Blackhawks were not going to quit. The rest of the first half, along with the third quarter, was very equal. Late in the fourth quarter, Fennville scored on a Tony Stennett pass to AJ vanWieren which put the Hawks ahead. Lawrence scored on the ensuing drive, and with very little time left, the Blackhawks were unable to answer. Final Score: Lawrence 21, Fennville 20. |

Week #4 - Gobles The final game on Fennville's road trip had them stopping in to take on the State ranked Gobles Tigers. The Tigers were ranked second in the state for Division 7, but the Hawks came out fired up. The Blackhawk offense had three promising drives that were killed because of penalties, while their defense stopped Gobles four times. At the end of the first quarter, it was only 7-0 in Gobles favor. Unfortunately, Fennville could not match the speed and conditioning of the Tigers, and the haltime score was 28-0. The second half was more of the same, as the Hawks struggled against a powerful Gobles team. Although they played their hearts out, the final score was 48-0, Gobles. |

Week #5 - Bloomingdale After three consecutive road games, the Blackhawks finally had a game in front of the home crowd. The Hawks looked powerful, driving inside the 20 yard line three times but were unable to score. With their star running back not suited up to play, Bloomingdale managed only one first down in the first quarter and a half, at which point a weather delay forced the game to be played Saturday. The game went a different direction the next afternoon, when the Cardinal's running back decided to suit up and play, leading them to a 12-0 lead. Fennville struck back late in the fourth to make it 12-8, but could not score again. Final score: Bloomingdale 12, Fennville 8. |

Week #6 - Martin As Fennville rolled into Martin, not only were they playing a team that was fired up because of homecoming, but a team that was also ranked second in the state for Division 8. The Hawks struggled on both sides of the ball, leading to a halftime score of 28-0 in favor of the Clippers. The second half started with a punt for Fennville, but Logan McKellips recovered a fumble from the returner. A few plays later, the Hawks scored on a Tony Stennett to Jordan Smith touchdown pass. That would end the scoring for Fennville, leaving the final score 46-8. |

Cameron Glover scored two rushing touchdowns, along with Hector Garcia's five yard TD run and AJ van Wieren's receiving touchdown, leading to a 28-7 halftime lead for Fennville. Bangor came out strong in the second half, stopping the Hawks and scoring on their first drive, but Fennville was just too much for the Vikings. Week #8 - Saugatuck In game number eight, the Blackhawks were facing the Saugatuck Indians in a heated rivarly game. The Hawks were coming in as underdogs, but they didn't care and came to play. Both teams moved the ball well in the first half, but could not finish once inside the 20 yard line. Saugatuck finally scored late in the second quarter, leading to a halftime score of 6-0. The third quarter was a defensive showcase with neither team scoring. A 54 yard run in the fourth by Cameron Glover helped set up a touchdown for Fennville, but the two point conversion fell about one inch short. The score after the end of four quarters was 6-6, so the game went into overtime. Fennville scored and converted on the two point conversion, leaving it up to the defense. Saugatuck scored on their third play, but the Hawks dug in and kept them out on the two point play. Keeping a 15 (now 16) year tradition of beating the Indians, final score: 14-12. |
|
Week #9 - Lawrence The final game of the season had the Blackhawks matching up with the Lawrence Tigers once again. Lawrence had the better record, but the Hawks were coming off two straight wins, so this game was going to be close. A Logan McKellips interception and a Cameron Glover touchdown were not enough for the Hawks, and the score at halftime was 21-6, Lawrence. Quarters three and four were just the opposite, with Fennville putting up 22 points to the Tiger's twelve, but a late drive by Lawrence put them up for good.. In the end, Fennville came up just short on some key plays leading to a final score of Lawrence 33, Fennville 28. |
